I think that that statement would be ridiculous today but in 1977 it was true.Three reasons you should have a computer at home are so that you can quickly access all the information on the web,you can use e-mail to easily communicate, and you can share your ideas with other people and get feedback.

I think that Ken Olson is being a bit unreasonable because who wouldn't want or need a computer at home?! I just don't understand it. Okay...my first reason to have a computer--It connects you with the outside world and it keeps you informed about what's going on in your world. Number 2--you can communicate with others and meet new people but you have to take certain precautions when meeting new people. Last but not least, you can do research on things you don't know and for assignments that require a report or getting some research done.

I think in 1977 having a computer would be pointless because you would be one of the very few not to have a computer. But now, almost everyone has a computer at their house which is needed for homework assignments, contacting other people with e-mail and instant messenger, and finally it can be a news resorce, by using www.cnn.com and www.foxnews.com and also using the www.drudgereport.com, there are also many more reasons to have a computer in your home in the 21st century!

I think that that statement is understandable because back then they don't have computers, so they wouldn't understand how useful a computer could be. Three reasons that you should have a computer at home are: 1)You can communicate and get to know people by chating or emailing. 2)You can make your own page so people will look at it and get to know you. 3)You can save your essays on the computer so you wouldn't have to rewrite it.

There are many reasons why a computer is helpful and why you would want one in your house. If you have a report to write, it is easy to look up infotmation on the internet quickly and type it up, rather than going to the library. Also, they are much better than trpewriters because you can backspace if you make mistakes and save your progress. Another reason that a computer would be helpful in your house is if you need to communicate with someone or save information.

That statement seems ridiculous today but if you were from 1977 you might believe it. Three reasons you should have a computer at home are so you can access information, you don't waste paper for everytime you mess up when you're typing an essay, and so you can share thoughts and ideas with out leaving your home!

I think that everyone should have a computer. It can be used to entertain while at the same time it is being used to check on this for work. Also, it can be used to buy things online.
I think a computer is needed in a house.

This quote is ridiculous, for there are a million reasons, people would want a computer in their home! However, in 1977 this might not have been a ridiculous quote, because it may have been easier to handwrite something than to type it! Today, though, a computer helps you find information quickly, as well as help people talk to each other faster!

i disagree w/ the quote on page one. there are many reasons to hav a computer @ home. in 1997 it would be WAY to expensive 4 everyone to hav a computer @ home, but now it's practally a necessity!!!
2)where else would u go to use one except the library??!!
3)it's much easier to do reports and research @ home.
4)now-a-days we use the enternet 4 communication, info, and even to buy merchandise (like "Fandango" and plane tickets).

There are many reasons to have a computer, such as: to communicate with friends and family, to research information, and to create spreadsheets and things that are difficult to do by hand.

I think that statement is crazy! Having a home computer is very important. You need a home computer to type reports quickly and easily, research information without having to go to the library and receive important information via email.

I think that the man reason to have a computor at home is to access the internet, as much helpful info can come from the internet, along with the ability to send e-mail. Two, a computor is usful for many tasks involving work. Finally, and my favorite reason, to play games on the computor.

I think nobody would want a computer is that you would have to be really smart. Now there is no need not to know something because you research in minutes. With search engines like Google. It was a good statement back then but now it is fake.

As to everything, computers have pros and cons to its users. It passes information, improves communication, and is a source of entertainment. Though these are helpful, computers can show personal information to others and badly influence people with inappropriate information. People strongly believe we could do almost nothing without computer technology, but instead of searching for a topic online, we can check books, and instead of writing emails, we can write letters. The computer helps our lives in many ways, but is not such a necesssity. Therefore, it is not that people NEED computers, but people WANT computers.

Here are 3 good reasons ta have a computer at home:
1. you dont have to go to the library to get books, you can look up information on the web; its faster
2. you can communicate by email or im instead of hogging the phone all day
3. you can shop online instead of going to the mall, it is quicker to shop online than to walk around the mall, find the items, find the right size, ask questions, and pay for it. at home all you have to do is find the item, find your size, and order it

I think that in the time we are in right now, it is becoming a necessity to have a computer at home. One of the reasons would be that thanks to the internet, people who are unable to go get groceries can now order them online and have them delivered to their home. That reason can go for more than just food delivery as well. 2nd, technology is moving so fast right now that if someone doesn't have or doesn't get a computer in the near future, they could, theoretically, get "left in the dust". Finally, it just makes life a little more organized because you don't necessarily have to keep all of your documents in files.

I think that the statement is completely ridiculous today but back a few decades it was true.
1 You can e-mail to other people.
2 You can play games on it.
3 You can type up your work on the computer instead of writing it.

I think that what this person said is exteremly ridiculous. This makes no sense whatsovever. I do not thnk there is anything wrong wit having a computer at home. Unless it affects you in a negative way, then I think you should have one.

I think people should have a computer at home so they can access their e-mail and contact people through web cams. You can also use a computer at home to surf the web just for fun. Another reason is so you can use it to research topics.

my first reason is that they help you in a varitey of ways. They can give you information such as the weather and news all over the world. Also they correct your writng and type your essay in a neat way. the third way is that resource is easy with the computer

If you have a computer at home, you can talk to people even if they live far away. You can also have fun on the internet with games and fun websites. The last reason I think that you should have a computer at home is that it helps you know what is happening in the world. There are many other reasons than these. - Ben Craig
