Daily Blog for Thursday July 20
Hello Web Design students! Today we started learning HTML and were introduced to CARP and TILT. Since the class is called Web Design I would like for you to keep these concepts in mind as we go through the class. For today's post please explain CARP in your own words and find a good example of one of the concepts. Link the example to your post.
Thanks,
Ms. Duax

I think carp is a way people judge your web page and it will help you get people to be interested in your web page.

CARP tells you to not overbalance your web page amd to put in stuff in contrast. It also says that you should not put a lot of HTML in the page, becausethen the page wont look good and will be too crowded.TILT is telling you mostly the same thing about your web page, and that is not to overcrowd it and keep it in moderation.
The C in CARP means Contrast, like black against white. The A means Alignment, which means organized or in order. The R means Repetition, like repeting a backround color. Finally the P means Proximity, like the relationship with a picture.

CARP is Contrast, Alignment, Repititon, Proximity and TILT is Text, Images, Links, Tables
Carp:
Contrast- making your text easy to see.
Alignment- all items on the page are lined up together
Repetition- repeat main items so people can identify your pages
Proximity- make items that should be together, close together because when they are they look like they have a relationship.
I think that basically CARP is making your site aesthetically pleasing.. making sure everything looks good together, making sure that the important things stand out, making sure all of your pages are similar.. it's important because the more pleasing your site is to visitors, the more they will want to come back to it!
good example: http://everythingjohnny.com/
The C in CARP means Contrat, like black and white. The A means Alignment, which means organization. The R means Repetition, like repeting the background. Finally the P means Proixity, like the relationship with a picture.

Contrast is the difference between the background color and the text color. For instance, using a black background and black text would have no contrast. it would be impossible to see the text against the background. The most extreme contrast is black and white.
Alignment is where the text is on the page. Justified left brings the text towards the left. This alignment is most common. Justified right brings all the text to the right. Centered text is aligned in the middle of the page. Alignment is important to the good looks of a web page. have you ever seen a news website with the banner on the left out of alignment? No. That would make the page look bad.
Repitition is also important to making a page look good. If you had different colors for everything, your page would look disorderly and crazy. A page with one color for text and one color for background invariably looks neat.
Proximity is how close a heading is to the article it descrbes. Close proximity is appropriate on a web page; you wouldn't want your header to be at the top of the page and your article to be at the bottom!

CARP
Contrast means that the background color is different from the text color , which helps certain words stand out. A stands for allignment which means that Ideas and text that are related to each other are grouped together. repeating main points and the logo help tell a person where they are. proximity means how close objects or clumps of text are to each other. when they are coles together they will seem to be related.
C.a.r.p. is contrast, alignment, repetition, proximity.Contrast is how you write something like hte bold and italicized words. Also the colors of the backrounds and the font. Alignment is how well the words are lined up. Proximity is the relationship between 2 pictures or words. A good exampe is the sac state page. The colors arent hard to see and everything is lined up http://www.csus.edu/
carp is a way of making your site look neat and organized for other people to see.

carp is the guidelines that can help make your webpage look better
CARP is the basis of a good website. CARP gives a website the contrast, alignment, repetition, and proximity. When a website uses CARP it makes it more enjoyable to look at like http://www.linkage.nl/06/.
CARP is a way to make a site look better by using contrast, alignment, repetition, and proximity.
Contrast is where you make a word a completley different color than the background to make it stand out.
CARP is the tactic good web-designers use to make their pages look cool. They make everything perfect by using it. this site uses Repetition.
Carp means Contrast, alignment, repitition, proximity. Contrast means to attract peoples eyes.
Alignment means to make all things in one row so it looks organized. Repitition means to repeate your logo on every page. and Proximity means to put things close together.

Carp=Contrast, Alignment, Repetition, Proximity. Contrast=Do not make the backround color and the text color the same or nearly the same. Alignment= Keep all text in a neat order. Repetition= Means repeating stuff like a logo. Proximity= Having the title and the text close togeather.

CARP is contrast, alignment, reptition, and proxmity. Contrast makes objects pop out. Alignment lines up obects on the page. Reptition shows relation to other objects. Proxmity shows the relation in objects.
Carp is Contrast, Alignment, Repitition, and Proximity. Contrast is the difference between colors that draws your eye to the page. The strongest contrast is black and white. Alignment is how things are lined up on the page, either vertical or horizontal. Repitition is how things are repeated, like the same colors and a symbol throughout the website. Proximity is how things with relationships are put close together, so you know they are part of a whole. One example is http://www.csus.com/index.cfm
CARP is Contrast, Alignment, Repititon, Proximity. I think CARP makes your website look good. It makes your website organized.
